DreamKeeper Bullmastiffs is located in the South Central area of Michigan. We have been involved with Bullmastiffs since 1996 when we acquired our first bullmastiff, who came to us in a rather unconventional manner. Flirt came to us via a friend who was in school at the time and couldn't give her the attention she required. Flirt moved into my house fitting in with the dogs I currently had and she soon formed a tight bond with my then 9 year old son.
Flirt went to an agility class with me one day, quite by accident, as I was working a mixed breed then. I ran Flirt just to see what she'd do and she loved everything. After entering classes and hearing lots of criticisims on how Bullmastiffs can't run agility, we hit the show circuit. We had our trials and tribulations, like any team, but she went on to be my first performance dog and she taught me about love, patience, and trust.
Flirt also showed me how loyal, devoted, fun-loving and comical the Bullmastiff breed can be. She demonstrated a work ethic I'd never known and something I hope to develop in future dogs. Through living with Flirt, I had the honor and priviledge of co-owning her half brother Stone. Stone was a beautiful brindle who graced me with the task of running agilty. Stone was a very fast dog and his owner, my dearest and closest friend, had no course experience. She knew my love for playing agility and graciously allowed me to work Stone. Stone passed away much too soon at a young age of 7; he is missed still today.
There is one Aberdeen dog left in our area, U-ACH Aberdeen Calvery Stampede, OA, NJ, NJP that also graced my life. Kayla is retired now as she is almost 12 years of age. Her owner, another friend, allowed me to work Kayla and finish up some of her titles. As you peruse our site, you will see pictures of these incredible siblings and it is with much pride and gratitude that I say thank you to their owners for allowing me to share a very special part of their lives.
Through my past experiences with the above-mentioned dogs, my dreams and goals for a small kennel materialized. It is our goal to produce quality working dogs that are sound in mind and body and as close to the Bullmastiff standard as possible. It is our promise to be a small kennel producing on a limited basis as all our dogs are home dwellers and couch potatoes when they are not busy and as always, are loving and loyal companions.
Please take some time to visit our site and see our dogs. I will also introduce you to the foundation dogs of Dreamkeeper. Feel free to contact me if I can answer any questions.
